Cross fleuronnée with quatrefoil at center / Crowned coat-of-arms. Friedenberg p. 8-9; Duplessy 1232; Ciani 1515. Toned, minor flan crack, scratch. VF. Rare.

French coinage of this period is commonly marked with a différent, mintmaster’s symbol, in addition to the usual alphabetical mintmarks. On this specimen, the Hebrew letter shin refers to the Jewish mintmaster Simon de Navarre. After this issue, the mintmark A would be reserved for the mint of Paris.
