KINGS of MACEDON. Perseus. 179-168 BC. AR Tetradrachm (30mm, 17.22 g, 12h). Attic standard. Pella or Amphipolis mint; Au-, mintmaster. Struck circa 173-171 BC. Diademed head right / BAΣI-ΛEΩΣ ΠEP-ΣEΩΣ, eagle standing right on thunderbolt; AY monogram (mintmaster) to above, HP monogram to right, AN monogram between legs; all within oak wreath; below, plow left. Mamroth, Perseus 15; HGC 3, 1091; Jameson 1013; McClean 3675; Rhousopoulos 1203; Weber 2220. Old collection tone, minor die break on obverse. EF. Well centered and struck on a broad flan.

Reportedly ex John J. Slocum Collection, purchased from Sepheriades, Athens, in 1963.
