Laureate head right / Roma (or Athena) seated left on throne, holding Nike in her outstretched hand and holding long scepter, shield at side behind her; KB/L (date) to left. Traditionally attributed as Athena on the reverse, RPC suggests that it must be Roma due to the lack of aegis and that she holds a scepter and not a spear. Of the 70 specimens cited at RPC very few are definitive, only a handful show the top of the scepter conclusively but those that do show a globe and not a spear-tip.
