Laureate bust right, wearing aegis / Demeter standing right, holding torch and scepter, vis-à-vis Euthenia standing left, holding grain ears and scepter; between them, tall column surmounted by calathus. Köln –; Dattari (Savio) –; K&G –; RPC III 4598; Emmett 437.15 (R4 = Hunterian 240 = SNG Hunterian 3954 var. [obv. bust type]). Dark reddish-brown patina with touches of green, some roughness and minor smoothing. Near VF. Extremely rare type, none in CoinArchives, and the authors of RPC cite only seven specimens, all in institutional collections. |
