AR Gros dit Gillet (23mm, 2.42 g, 12h). + · RO · IhR · SICIL RЄX ·, crowned and mantled bust left; mantle decorated with lis / + COMЄS : PROVINCIЄ :, cross feuillue; quadrilobe in center. Cf. Grierson, Coins of Medieval Europe 347 (for a gigliato of Robert I); Rolland 46; Duplessey, Féodales 1639 var. (obv. legend); Poey d’Avant 3994 var. (same); Künker 217, lot 2460 (same dies, but earlier die state). Toned, hint of die rust. VF. Extremely rare, the Künker coin the only specimen in CoinArchives.
