UNCERTAIN, Uncertain. Hadrian. AD 117-138. Æ (12mm, 1.25 g, 12h). Laureate and draped bust right, seen from behind / Boar standing right. RPC III 6572. Earthen brown patina. Near VF. Extremely rare, two recorded in RPC.

All three known specimens of this type come from very different dies indicating a substantial number of coins minted. Where they were issued, however, is uncertain. One VCoins dealer sold it as Aelia Capitolina while Roma described it as a contemporary imitation of a quadrans (RIC 702; Hercules/Boar, now new RIC 684). The coins are anepigraphic, so until find spots are revealed, further attribution may not be possible. If these were found in the Levant, as the VCoins dealer suggested, they could be part of the vast series of minims found in the area.
