SCARABS. Ancient Egypt, 2nd intermediate period. 1650-1550 BC. Steatite. (15x11 mm). The rim is nicely decorated. Base at the very top, is shown the “ RA “ the supreme sun god. At the very base, emblem of food, the owner of the scarab is requesting from the sun god to provide. In between, many symmetrical signs for protections. Once glazed. Small crack on back and side. Minor chip at base. Pierced for mounting.
