RIC VII –; Bendall, Anonymous Type 2; RSC –; Vagi 3039. Deeply toned, holed at edge. Good VF. Attractive style.

Simon Bendall suggested a tentative typology and chronology for this series of late Roman anonymous silver fractions. He accepted the generally agreed upon conclusion that the earliest, finest style issues were struck for the occasion of the formal dedication of the new capital of Constantinople on 11 May 330. He further analyzed stylistic variations and reported hoard finds, and suggested that further issues in the series appeared on the anniversary dates of the founding, in AD 430 and 530. Additionally, he determined that variations of this series continued to be struck for other events as late as during the reign of Justinian I, celebrating his re-conquest of Italy.
