Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (19.5mm, 2.71 g, 2h). Earlier style. Unmarked mint. Struck circa AD 286-287. IMP CARAVSIVS P F A[VG], radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / LIT I AV, Laetitia standing left, holding wreath downwards and vertical scepter. RIC V.5 (1090) var. (obv. legend; same rev. die as 1090 note). Dark green-brown patina, some roughness, flan somewhat bent. Near VF. Unique obverse legend variety of an extremely rare issue.
