Contorniates. Late 4th-5th centuries AD. Æ Contorniate (42mm, 31.39 g, 1h). In the name of Honorius. HONORIO AVGVSTO, diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right / SPECIOSVS DIGNVS EVGENIVS ACHILLES SIDERIVS, the charioteer Eugenius, head right, holding wreath and palm frond, in facing quadriga drawn by the horses Speciosus, Dignus, Achilles, and Siderius. Alföldi, Kontorniat 448 (dies 134/179). Green surfaces with earthen deposits, smoothed and tooled. VF. Very rare.

This series of contorniates features a stock reverse type of a victorious charioteer in a facing quadriga. The reverse names the charioteer, Eugenius, and his horses, Speciosus, Dignus, Achilles, and Siderius.
