Contorniates. Late 4th-5th centuries AD. Æ Contorniate (38mm, 23.72 g, 12h). In the name of Caracalla. M AVREL ANTONINVS PIVS AVG B[RIT], laureate and cuirassed bust right / Olympias reclining left on couch, extending hand to serpent coiled at feet; [RE]GINA in exergue. Alföldi, Kontorniat 408 (dies 96/7). Dark gray brown and red-brown surfaces, areas of corrosion, roughness, smoothing. Near VF. Very rare.
