Contorniates. Late 4th-5th centuries AD. Æ Contorniate (37mm, 28.33 g, 6h). In the name of Trajan. IMP CAES NERVAE TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P COS III, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust left, seen from behind / Helen of Troy standing right, resting arm on one of the Dioscuri seated right; to right, the other standing left, holding spear and resting hand on mane of horse standing left. Alföldi, Kontorniat 254 (dies 66/56). Brown patina, minor marks, holed. Good Fine. Extremely rare – only eight known to Alföldi, and only this specimen in CoinArchives.
