Diva Faustina Senior. Died AD 140/1. Æ Sestertius (32mm, 28.14 g, 12h). Rome mint. Struck under Antoninus Pius, circa AD 143-144. Draped bust right, wearing pearls bound on top of her head / PIETAS AVG, S C in exergue, the Temple of Antoninus Pius and Faustina: hexastyle temple façade set on a stepped base; ornate pediment decorated with figures; roof line surmounted by facing quadriga; figures with billowing veils at ends. RIC III 1148 (Pius); Banti 96. Attractive brown river patina. VF. Rare architectural reverse.
