DECAPOLIS, Pella. Commodus. AD 177-192. Æ (35mm, 26.15 g, 11h). Dated CY 246 (AD 183/4). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Acropolis of Pella with hexastyle temple and statue standing in center. The temple is placed on a podium supported by pillars; at the base of mountain, a colonnade with gateways. Spijkerman 9; RPC IV.3 Online 6588; Sofaer 7; Shoshana I 20691 = SRM 216 (this coin). Earthen brown surfaces, light smoothing. VF. Finer than any recorded in RPC.
