Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla right, seen from behind vis-à-vis [bare-headed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Geta left, seen from behind] / Tyche standing facing, head left, wearing kalathos, holding patera and cornucopia; crowned by Nike standing to right holding palm. Weisser, Pergamon 1650; RPC V.2 Online 799; SNG BN –. Yellow-brown surfaces, light roughness. Fine. Rare. Portrait of Geta erased, Caracalla’s damnatio memoriae of Geta applied after his murder in AD 211.

The majority of Caracalla’s damnatio memoriae were applied at Stratonicaea in Caria; the other city where it occurred with great frequency was Pergamum.
