Cf. DOC p. 536 for discussion of the dating of this rare issue. While DOC argues that this issue was struck sometime during the beginning of Constantine’s reign, during his regency but before Romanus I supplanted him as senior augustus in 921, the great scarcity of this issue and the presence of the title autokrator could suggest it was struck briefly during his sole reign from January-April 945.
