Caesar’s Boat in a Storm off the Italian Coast (“Caesar and His Fortune”): Caesar, in the stern of a small boat tossed by waves, encourages his oarsman; dated year 706 (48 BC) in exergue / Caesar Escapes His Enemies by Swimming in the Port of Alexandria (“Intrepidness of Caesar”): Caesar swimming towards the bow of a ship, holding his papers aloft, while his enemies amassed on the shore fire arrows at him; Pharos of Alexandria in background; dated year 706 (48 BC) in exergue.
