JEWELRY. Eastern Iranian Plateau. Middle - Late Bronze Age
. 2000-1200 BCE. (11.5 cm long). Bronze. A long straight cloak pin with a finial consisting of a central circular boss and 4 projecting, symmetrically arranged lobated projections. Comparable bronze dress fasteners are documented in excavated contexts at sites including Tepe Yahya, Shahdad, and Shahr‑i Sokhta. Though frequently labeled “Luristan” in the art market, such objects reflect broader eastern Iranian Plateau metalworking traditions distinct from the Zagros bronze corpus. Loss of tip. |
