SCARABS. Ancient Egypt, 2nd intermediate period. 1650-1550 BC. Steatite. (21x15 mm). Base engraved with your “ URAEI “, (royal cobras), the cobra is an emblem of lower Egypt, used for ultimate protection, ancient Egyptians believed that the cobra would spit fire at any approaching enemies. Elongated “ NEB BASKET “ below, for the Lord/Master to enjoy all life and dominion. Once glazed. Pierced for mounting.
