SCARABS. Ancient Egypt, 2nd intermediate period. 1650-1550 BC. Steatite. (20x14 mm). Back richly decorated with 5 Lotus (sacred flower). Base engraved with “A-N-R” pattern flanked by symmetrical crowns of lower Egypt and eyes of “RA” above Horus Falcon with spread wings (Horus is the God of the sky and the divine protector of kings). Once glazed. Pierced for mounting. Small chip at edge.
