CERAMIC POTTERY. Trans-Caucasian. Peripheral tribes. 2,800 - 2,400 BCE. (5 cm tall x 7.5 cm long x 3.5 cm wide). A votive figure of a bird, very possibly an eagle, resting; feet forwzrd, head forward. Simple details are present: a large eye, several ridges on the back resembling feathers, a collar of sort around the base of the neck. White clay with a darkened patina that resembles stone. Minor chipping at both eyes, otherwise intact. |
