Faustina Junior. Augusta, AD 147-175. Æ Medallion (37mm, 39.46 g, 6h). Rome mint. FAVSTINA AVGVSTA, draped bust left / The six Vestal Virgins sacrificing before the Temple of Vesta. Gnecchi –; MIR 18, –; Banti –; cf. Künker 97, 1527 = NAC K, 1858 (for same obv. die). Dark brown and green patina, reverse chased, smoothed, and tooled (at least partly in antiquity). VF. Extremely rare and unpublished.

While this reverse type is known for medallions of Lucilla, Gnecchi II 13 and pl. 76, 9-10, it was not formerly known for Faustina Junior.
