Crowned facing bust, holding scepter / + WI[LLEL]M : O[N : C]A[R], cross pattée, with crosslet in angles. BMC 225 (same dies); North 961/1; SCBC 1342. Deeply toned, usual areas of weak strike, slight ghosting, minor marks. VF. This obverse die was also used at Newcastle (BMC 606). |
