Claudius. AD 41-54. Æ Dupondius (29mm, 15.09 g, 6h). Uncertain Gallic mint. Bare head left / Ceres seated left on throne, holding two grain ears and torch. Cf. Besombes & Barrandon pl. IX, 4; cf. A lovely example of the long-necked style portraits typical of the understudied Gallic mints of Claudius. |
