Treadwell, who only had access to a damaged and fragmentary piece, could not identify this as an Abbasid rather than a Buwayhid type. It is surprising that ‘Abbasid dirhams should have been issued at Isbahan in this year, given that Buwayhid coins were struck there in AH 323 and 324.
