Diademed head of Ptolemy I right, aegis around neck / Eagle, with closed wings, standing left on thunderbolt; LA to right. CPE 1038; Svoronos – (but same obv. die as illustration or 1192 [dated RY 4]); Olivier – (but obv. die D3 [unlisted for date]); SNG Copenhagen – (but same obv. die as 1303 [dated RY 4]); DCA2 1102 (same dies as illustration). Small flan flaws, scratches and scrapes. Good VF. Extremely rare date, only only example published, in the collection of the author of DCA2; one additional in CoinArchives (CNG 126, lot 376 [same dies]). |
