BOEOTIA, Tanagra. 500-480 BC. AR Hemidrachm (11mm, 2.83 g). Boiotian shield, horizontal T facing inward in each opening / Square incuse quartered perpendicularly and diagonally, the diagonal lines not quite at 45 degrees with the vertical; four of the resulting recessed triangles have filled in. BCD Boiotia 248 (this coin); HGC 4, 1284 (this coin illustrated). Toned, some granularity and marks. VF. Very rare.
