SCARABS. Egypt. New Kingdoms Period. 1,550 - 1,050 BCE. Steatite. (18 mm). A simple scarab with minimal definition of head and clypeus and notches for wing cases. Bidirectional piercing for suspension. On the face: a man stands facing right, his arm extended. Above and below, filler design, loosely signifying nb (lord). The design is meant to suggest the hieroglyph artistically. Intact. |
