ROMAN GLASS. Roman. 3rd - 4th centuries AD. (7 cm tall x 7 cm diameter). A squat cylindrical toiletry container with a flared base and embellishment near the flattened shoulder. The squat slightly tapered wide neck flares into a wide lip with folded edge. Extensive patina and iridescence over the surface, creating a very vibrant marbled external encrustation. Tiny chips at rim, otherwise intact. |
