Struck circa 1163-1188. + BOAIIVИDV(retrograde Z), bust left, wearing Norman helmet decorated with cross pattée and chainmail coif; crescent to left, five-rayed star to right; double barred and pelleted A with pellet at each end; (retrograde Z) with pellets / + AИTI (triple annulets) OCИIA, cross pattée; crescent in second quarter; double barred and pelleted As with pellet at each end; double barred Ns; ornamented C. Metcalf, Crusades 400-3; CCS 70; Dow, ACTTB, p. 329 (this coin). Find patina/deposits, some obverse ghosting, slightly irregular flan. VF.
