Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ Sestertius (30mm, 21.51 g, 12h). Rome mint, 6th officina. 12th emission, mid-late AD 243. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Mars advancing right, holding transverse spear and shield. RIC IV 333; Banti 53; Dow, ACTTB, p. 276 (this coin). Brown and red patina, spot of smoothed encrustation on the reverse. Good VF.
