LYCIA, Koinon of Lycia. Late 1st century BC-early 1st century AD. Æ (18.5mm, 4.46 g, 12h). Cragus mint. Diademed head of Apollo right; K-P / Draped bust of Artemis right, wearing stephane; Λ-Y. Troxell, Lycia 223; RPC I 3332a var. (bow over Artemis’ shoulder). Dark brown patina, slight roughness, scratches. VF. Rare variety.

Troxell records ten specimens of this type and illustrates three, all with distinctly different features. Apollo is diademed or laureate, Artemis wears a stephane or simple diadem and is shown with or without her signature bow.
