STATUARY. CHINA. In the style of the Tang Dynasty. (85 mm tall x 80 mm wide). Solid core statue. This figure likely represents a court lady, characterized by a high, elegant hairstyle typical of the era. It is shown seated, with her right leg bent beneath her and her left leg slightly raised. Her left hand is gently placed on her chest. A very interesting posture for terracotta figures in that period. The surface, marked by the passage of centuries, has become worn, leaving only a vague outline of the original details. Sold as is.
