Ceramic - Pottery. Trans-Caucasian. Peripheral tribes. 2,800 - 2,400 BCE. (19.0 CM tall x 14.0 cm long x 9.0 cm wide). A ram shaped ritual vessel with a ribbed body and four feet. The neck extends from the forepart of the vessel, forming into a ram headed spout. A single handle arches back to the hind of the animal, a small tail extends off of it in the very back of the piece. Black paint decorates the vessel at points, as highlights and embellishments. Glaze is mostly intact but has small breaks. One foot has lost the outer patina but remains intact. A very impressive piece. |
