Roman Glass. 2nd - 3rd Centuries CE. (6.5 cm tall x 6.0 cm diameter). A large utilitarian toiletries vessel with squat body and flat foot. The body flares into a wide shoulder, extending into a simple neck with no lip. Earthen patina and encrustations form a speckled almost marbled appearance to the surface of the glass. Clear color with iridescence. Minor chipping at rim of spout, otherwise intact. |
