The Triumvirs. Octavian. Autumn 30-summer 29 BC. Fourrée Denarius (21mm, 2.61 g, 3h). Uncertain mint in Italy (Rome?). Bare head right / IMP • CAESAR on the architrave of the Roman Senate House (Curia Julia), with porch supported by four short columns, statue of Victory on globe surmounting apex of roof, and statues of standing figures at the extremities of the architrave. Cf. CRI 421; cf. RIC I 266; cf. RSC 122; cf. Elkins, Monuments Figure 47. Toned, breaks in plating reveal the copper core. Fine.
