THRACE, Anchialus. Maximinus I. AD 235-238. Æ Pentassarion (28.5mm, 14.53 g, 7h). Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Table seen in perspective with agonistic prize crown containing palm frond; below, amphora; E (mark of value) to upper left. Tachev, Anchialos 7-8 (O4/R6); RPC VI Online –; Varbanov –; Numismatik Naumann 133, lot 364 (there as RPC 620). Brown patina with slight roughness, area of weakness. Near VF. Extremely rare, only two specimens known to Tachev.
