PAMPHYLIA, Side. Circa 400-380 BC. AR Stater (24.5mm, 10.66 g, 11h). Athena standing left, holding owl and shield; pomegranate to left, spear to right / Apollo, nude but for chlamys over shoulders, standing left, holding branch and bow; altar to left, bird to right. Atlan Group V, 64–5 var. (O53/A– [unlisted rev. die]); SNG BN 637–8 (same obv. die). Lightly toned, struck from worn dies, overstruck on a stater of Aspendos (feet of slinger visible on the reverse). Good VF. |
