Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; aphlaston above; in left field, A above ΣI; below throne, monograms above and below strut. Newell, Sinope 33; Price 1259; HGC 7, 401; Berlin obj. no. 18253534 (same dies). Iridescent tone, underlying luster, minor mark, flan flaws and some die wear on obverse. VF. Extremely rare, only one in Pella (the Berlin coin, which is the sole example cited by Newell), none in CoinArchives, nor the ANS Photofile. |
