KINGS of MACEDON. Philip II(?). 359-336 BC. PB (28mm, 30.64 g). ΦIΛIΠΠOY, nude youth, holding reigns, on horse leaping left; uncertain symbol below / Blank. Tan patina, minor deposits, flan folded. VF. Extremely rare.

This enigmatic folded lead piece features a type that appears to mimic reverses commonly found on fifth tetradrachms of Philip II. Whether this piece was made contemporary to the fifth tetradrachms, or is a much later creation is uncertain.
