EGYPT, Alexandria. Trajan. AD 98-117. Æ Drachm (35mm, 24.74 g, 12h). Dated RY 13 (AD 109/10). Laureate bust right, drapery on left shoulder / Harpocrates of Canopus with crocodile body, standing on garlanded basis left, raising hand to mouth and holding cornucopia; to left, Egyptian altar; L IΓ (date) across field. Köln 530 var. (bust); Dattari (Savio) 895 var. (same); K&G 27.233 var. (same); RPC III 4396.3; Emmett 500.13. Green-brown patina, light porosity, cleaning marks. VF. Very rare variety. RPC does not list this bust type, RPC 4396.3 is “uncertain laureate bust” but this obverse has clear drapery on the left shoulder.
