IMP [C P LIC] GALL[IENVS AVG], laureate and cuirassed bust right, seen from the front / COL T[VR O METR]O, IЄPI/A AM/BPOCI/WN ΠЄ/TPωN, Europa standing facing, holding baetyl to right; to left, forepart of ox; to right, murex shell. Unpublished. Cf. RPC IX 1996 (Treb. Gallus) & RPC X Online 71859 (Valerian I) [both are the same coin; Triton XVI, lot 740], both share the same rev. die. Earthen brown surfaces, porosity. Fine. It is possible that all of the extant specimens are of Gallienus since none of the obverse legends are clear. |
