Rosette-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Valentinian III standing facing, foot on human-headed serpent, holding long cross and Victory on globe left; R|M//COMOB. RIC X 2006; Depeyrot 46/1. Toned, a few light scratches, light hairlines. Good VF. A far less prevalently encountered issue at Rome versus Ravenna. Additionally, the rarer of the two varieties with the serpent’s coil closed. R4 in RIC X. |
