SELEUKID EMPIRE. Seleukos I Nikator. Second satrapy and kingship, 312-281 BC. Fourrée Tetradrachm (27mm, 14.52 g, 7h). Imitating Susa mint issue struck circa 300-295 BC. Head of hero (Alexander or Seleukos?) right, wearing helmet covered with panther skin and adorned with the ear and horns of a bull / Nike standing right, placing wreath on trophy to right; [AP to lower left?], monogram in lower middle field. Marest-Caffey Imitations Group 5, P1 = SC II, vol. II, p. 249, P29 = Pitchfork 54 (this coin). For prototype: cf. SC 173.15; cf. HGC 9, 20. Toned, traces of find patina, cleaning scratches, minor doubling, breaks in plating exposing core. Good VF.
