Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (23.5mm, 3.94 g, 6h). SC mint. Struck circa AD 290-291. VIRTVS CAR AVSI, radiate and cuirassed bust left, wearing plumed helmet, holding spear over shoulder and shield / LAE[TI]TI AVG, Laetitia, standing left, holding wreath and anchor; S|C//–. RIC V.5 3362 (this coin cited and illustrated). Dark green patina with some toned trace silvering. Good VF. Extremely rare. One of three cited in RIC V.5. The RIC V.5 plate coin.
