KINGS of MACEDON. Kassander. As regent, 317-305 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 17.01 g, 5h). In the name and types of Alexander III. Pella mint. Struck circa 317/6-315/4 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, thunderbolt above Σ; filleted thyrsos below throne. Price 259; Moore 272 (dies 85/G) = Westmoreland 17 (this coin, illustrated in both). Deep iridescent tone, flan crack, remnants of horn silver, edge marks. Good VF.

From the Westmoreland Collection, purchased from Colin Pitchfork, 4 September 2005. Reportedly ex 1970 Myron Hoard (IGCH 150).
