Commodus. AD 177-192. Æ As (27mm, 12.24 g, 5h). Rome mint. Struck AD 190. Laureate head right / Apollo standing right, legs, crossed, arm on top of his head, leaning on column to right. RIC III 569; MIR 18, 794-9/30; S 5854 (this coin illustrated). Beautiful dark green patina, minor earthen deposits. Good VF. Finer than any in CoinArchives. Very rare in this condition. Illustrated in Roman Coins and Their Values II.
