Commodus. AD 177-192. AR Denarius (18mm, 2.77 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck under Marcus Aurelius and Commodus, AD 178. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Salus seated left on throne, holding branch over serpent coiled up from ground to left. RIC III 649 (Aurelius); MIR 18, 424-14/37; RSC 762. A short scratch on reverse. EF. Some luster remains.
