KINGS of MACEDON. Philip III Arrhidaios. 323-317 BC. Æ Half Unit (14mm, 3.14 g, 11h). Uncertain mint in western Asia Minor. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Horseman riding right; c/m: uncertain symbol within incuse circle. Cf. Price P2 (Æ unit); otherwise, unpublished as a half. Dark green patina, spots of encrustation, cleaning scratches. VF. Extremely rare.

The inclusion of this issue under Macedon in Price is puzzling, since, in the text preceding Macedonian Bronze Issues (Price pp. 116–7), he notes that eleven were found in the Sardes excavations, “which makes attribution of [this issue] to western Asia Minor virtually certain.”

Closing Date and Time: 17 December 2025 at 10:17:00 ET.
