JUDAEA, Bar Kochba Revolt. 132-135 CE. AR Zuz – Denarius (18.5mm, 3.53 g, 12h). Undated, attributed to year 3 (134/5 CE). “Shim‘on’” (in Hebrew) irregularly distributed in two lines within wreath / Fluted jug and branch; “For the freedom of Jerusalem” in Hebrew around. Mildenberg 78 (O14/R50); Hendin 6449; Meshorer 283a; Bromberg 474 (same dies); Shoshana II 20224 (same dies); Sofaer 115 (same obv. die); Spaer 217 (same obv. die). Deep iridescent tone, minor die wear on obverse, overstruck on a denarius or drachm of Trajan (his portrait visible on the reverse). Good VF.
